 Finally Oslo natuloy ka rin!

This was a not-so-planned trip.

Pero sayang rin kasi kung 4 na araw kung asa bahay lang ako.

What is Oslo like?

Hmm...

Malinis...

Maayos...

Magandang struktura...

Boring.

Mahal...

Probably my expectations were too high.

And rightfully so!

Because I have been wanting to go here since childhood.

But at least, natupad ko na rin ang pangako ko sa sarili ko.

And that`s what`s most important.

The King died a few days after I landed so the country is in mourning.

Although hindi mo naman mararamdaman ito aside sa makikita mo everywhere the half-mast flags and the portrait of the king on almost all electronic boards.

And I finally went to their famous black church or Stavkyrke (3rd photo).

Maganda naman siya. It was made of wood.

And pagpasok mo meron ring mga nakaukit na imahe ni Hesus at mga disipolo sa loob.

Wala akong masyadong maikwento about Oslo.

Maganda siyang puntahan for a day or two, pero siguro the Fjords or the northern part of Norway would be a better tip kung bet mo ang nature, etc.

The architectures aren`t also something I am wow about.

Kaya kasi ako nagpupunta ng ibang bansa is to check the architectures - buildings, schools, offices, hospitals - you name it, titignan ko siya.

Norway-Sweden-Denmark. Sila-sila lang naman nag-aaway. They were conquering each other`s territories pero hindi naman sila nasakop or nagpasakop sa ibang bansa.

And that`s why the architectures stayed the same.

If you are going to go around, let`s say, Athens or Paris or Barcelona, makikita mo kung gaano kaganda ang paghulma nila sa kanilang mga arkitekturam because they were greatly influenced from other cultures.

Here, it`s very practical. Hindi ko rin alam kung anong tawag sa structures nila eh. It`s a mix of neo-classical/functionalism/contemporary.

Clean lines.

Angled textures.

Rectangles, Squares and Triangles.

As you can see on the first photo: that is the Royal Palace.

Yes Maàm/Sir, yan na po iyan.

No Disney-like castles.

No turrets.

No draw bridges.

Ganyan rin ang itsura sa likod

Wala ka masyadong makikitang sloping lines, wedges, convexes and concaves, etc.

And I see they rely more on practicality than aesthetics.

At wala rin namang masama doon.

Yun lang.
