Sweden Sojourn
I finally visited Stockholm, Sweden! After years of planning.
And I find it underwhelming.
Now don`t get me wrong...
The city is a wonder by itself.
Ang linis at ang ayos ng mga tao.
In comparison with, let`s say Paris or Athens, or even Berlin.
Pero I found it boring after only 2 days of staying.
Masaya namang maglakad doon. Parks are abundant, and spring is the perfect time to gallivant. Hindi masyadong mainit, hindi rin gaanong malamig. Marami na ring nag-ja-jogging.
I would actually say the ambiance is very similar to Copenhagen.
Even architecture is quite similar.
Although some differences are also noticeable.
Did you know that the Danes used to love French architecture?
Well, the Danish Monarchy, actually.
Kaya magkaiba ng konti ang kanilang buildings.
Pero like I said, mostly similar...
Hindi ko lang sure kung anong inspiration ng Sweden sa kanilang architecture.
Pero it is nothing too fancy nor too ostentatious.
But you get to see how well-built their infrastructures are.
The Royal Castle is also nothing fancy, just a huge building.
Hindi mo siya aakalaing Castle.
Oh...kaya pala I found it underwhelming also is because of the Nobel Prize Museum.
Antaas kasi ng expectations ko eh!!!
I thought every Nobel Prize laureate would have a biography, their intentions, their motivations, ganoin.
They would have extravagant rooms in accordance to the Nobel Prize themes, i.e., Peace, Medicine, Literature.
WALA!
Punyeta. And that costs 14 Euros.
Aba, malaking pera yun ah! Considering that Museums around also cost the same amount. And those store thousands of objects...
So ayun, the Museum had about two small rooms: one narrating the autobiography of Alfred Nobel and the other room was a room in which you can dress like Nobel Prize Dinner guests.
Kainizzzz...
And then the main gallery housed objects of Nobel Prize Winners, hence the Rappler shirt from Maria Ressa.
No background stories.
Anyway, that`s that.
Sa tingin niyo sa lahat ng nangyayari ngayon sa Pinas, do you still belive that there is good in this world?
